The current facility and operation was founded in 1997 by Roger and Carol Glassburn. Roger started R & C Packing to fulfill the lifelong dream of owning and operating a facility to slaughter and process beef, pork, and lambs for area individuals. Using over 40 years of meat processing and slaughter experience, he personally designed and built the current facility from the ground up. Roger built this processing operation with the goal of customer satisfaction, precise processing, and trust. In 2004, Roger felt it was time to retire. This is when he approached Jamie Graham about purchasing R & C Packing. Jamie was the ODA State Meat Inspector at the time. Roger wanted to see the business keep going in the same direction and felt that Jamie was the right person for the job.
In March of 2004, Jamie purchased R & C Packing and started running it with the goal of taking what Roger had started and expanding it even more. Roger is still very much a part of R&C Packing and is a mentor to Jamie when it comes to processing. R&C Packing’s main enterprise is custom processing, but is now branching out to offer and help its customers directly market their beef and pork directly to the consumer. Jamie is a 5th generation cattle and hog producer. He is a partner in Graham Blessing Farms, which as been in operation for 200 years and knows the problems and the work it takes for the small farmer to survive. It has always been his goal to develop a market where locally raised beef and pork can be made available to the consumer. Providing them with a substantially superior product than what they would normally be able to purchase at the local grocery store.
As a custom meat processor, R&C Packing and its employees are fully aware of the dedication and faith of the customers’ business.
